About the course

Electrical and electronic engineering is an engineering discipline concerned with the practical applications of electricity in all its forms. Generally, electrical engineering study deals with the technology of harnessing electrical energy towards designing, testing, and developing circuitry and equipment for electrical transmission systems, machine control and high-power apparatus and systems. Electronic engineering is another branch of engineering that deals with the practical application of designing, fabrication, and operations of electronic circuits, electronic devices, broadcast and communication systems that operate at low voltage. Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO 1: Apply fundamental scientific and engineering principles for problem-solving and generate practical and innovative solutions in electrical and electronic related engineering field.


PEO 2: Demonstrate technical hands-on and practical work with the aid of appropriate numerical techniques and ICT technologies situationally.


PEO 3: Work collaboratively in cross-functional team environments with effective team communication skills, possess entrepreneurial mindsets and manage effectively in diverse areas of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
 

PEO 4: Pursue career advancement by exercising team leadership towards professional engineering ethics, lifelong learning and development, and being conscious of sustainable development to better the profession and society.

PO 1:

Knowledge

Acquire and apply fundamental knowledge of science, engineering, and mathematics, with an engineering focus on solving well-defined electrical, electronic and automation engineering fields problems.

Problem Analysis

Apply first principles of mathematics, natural, and engineering sciences to identify, study, formulate and evaluate well-defined engineering problems based on a systematic approach and leading to authenticated creative and innovative conclusions.

Design or Development of Solutions

Apply a systematic approach to well-defined technical problems, design and performance evaluation that meet specified requirements with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, culture, society, and environment.

PO 4:

Investigation

Make use of engineering knowledge and methodology through critical thinking to interpret, analyse, and study well-defined engineering problems, designs and operational performances to reach convincing conclusions.

Modern Tool Usage

Apply appropriate engineering techniques, state of the art engineering, and IT resources to model, simulate, and analyse well-defined engineering problems within the relevant constraints and range of validity.

Demonstrate appropriate reasoning to assess contemporary societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues as well as the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.

SPM

At least 3 credit passes, including (1) Mathematics 

(1) natural science/technical-based subject 

(1) any subject

3 Passes in BM and Sejarah, English.

At least Grade C in any three (3) subjects, including

(1) Mathematics

(1) natural science/technical-based subject 

Pass in English*

IGCSE

At least Grade C in any three (3) subjects, including

(1) Mathematics

(1) natural science/technical-based  subject

Pass in English*

O-Level

UEC

At least Grade B in any three (3) subjects, including

(1) Mathematics

A minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject or equivalent qualification and;

STPM

Accredited Certificate

Engineering/Engineering Technology/Technology; OR
Technical Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3, with PT3 or its equivalent
; and 1 semester of a Bridging Programme.
