On March 15 and 16, 2025, ViTrox College collaborated with SMK Bagan Jaya to conduct The Hope Workshop by the Tzu Chi Buddhist Merit Society. This workshop aimed to help students gain a clearer understanding of their future study options and career pathways.
The event kicked off with an informative session on “Education Pathway after SPM”. This session is to inform about what the future holds for students after completing their high school. The Hope Workshop placed a strong emphasis on guiding students through this critical decision-making process by exploring numerous education pathways available to them. Whether students are inclined toward academic pursuits, vocational training, or skill-based programmes, this session aims to provide clarity and direction, helping them make informed choices that align with their passions, strengths, and career aspirations.
In the “How to Break Through Self” session, students engaged in collaborative activities that fostered teamwork, self-confidence, and problem-solving skills. One of the key highlights was the paper-folding challenge, where students worked in teams to complete intricate paper-folding tasks. This activity required them to practice patience, effective communication, and leadership. By working together, students explored strategies for overcoming self-doubt, and personal limitations. They not only improved their problem-solving abilities but also built trust and camaraderie between their team.
One of the most eye-opening sessions of Hope Workshop was “The 5 Love Languages”. The concept of love languages was to help people understand how they express and receive care. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, students discovered how recognizing these love languages could improve their relationships not just with family and friends but also in their academic and future professional lives. Each love language was explored in depth, with hands-on applications tied to the workshop’s themes of teamwork, leadership, and self-improvement. During the session, students participated in a group exercise to identify which love language resonated most with them. They then formed discussion to share personal experiences and insights, leading to deeper awareness of their unique ways of connecting with others.
The Hope Workshop is more than just an event. It’s a platform for growth, self-discovery, and commitment to empower students with the tools and insights they need to navigate this exciting phase of their lives. Through activities like exercises, discussion and reflections, students will enhance their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Together, let’s unlock their potential and help them take the first step toward a bright and promising future!
