ViTrox and Han Chiang High School Sign MoU: A Collaborative Effort to Nurture Malaysian Youth
Representatives from ViTrox Academy and Han Chiang High School attended the MoU Signing Ceremony to celebrate both institutions’ commitment to nurturing Malaysian youths.
PENANG, 4 AUGUST 2026 — A new chapter of collaboration officially begins as ViTrox Academy and Han Chiang High School signed a Memorandum of Understanding, showcasing the ongoing efforts of both institutions to become trusted and well-respected educational providers that nurture future generations of youth in Malaysia.
The signing ceremony was attended by ViTrox Group Co-founder, Dato' Chu Jenn Weng, who was invited to address students at Han Chiang Independent High School. In his speech, he shared personal reflections on his upbringing and childhood in Seremban.
Despite not being born into wealth, he did not let his circumstances stand in the way of his success. He recalled helping run his family's business while preparing for university entrance exams, eventually earning offers from several universities before choosing to study at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He told students that the circumstances one is born into matter less than the everyday choices one makes, and that it is these choices, not one's starting point, that ultimately shape a person's potential.
Progress, he said, is a compounding process. Improving by just 1% each day does not add up to a 365% gain over a year; it compounds to nearly 38 times one's starting point. He cautioned that the same principle works in reverse: time spent avoiding difficult challenges compounds into missed growth just as powerfully.
He also spoke on the mindful use of AI, a subject of growing debate as the technology develops rapidly. He said AI should not be used as a substitute for one's own thinking, but as a tool to sharpen critical thinking. He closed his speech with three practical habits for students: cutting down on mindless scrolling by at least 30 minutes a day, keeping a gratitude journal, and pushing through at least 10 minutes of effort on a difficult task before giving up.
The head principal of Han Chiang High School, Madam Kung Bee Lee, also spoke on the importance of this collaboration, as it represents a new starting point for education and industry to work together in nurturing talent.
Under the collaboration, ViTrox Academy will provide Han Chiang High School with STEM mentorship, access to its Makers Space learning platform, and a Principal's Excellence Scholarship. The partnership supports the high school's focus on STEAM, AI, and holistic education and will provide students with exposure to career opportunities through campus visits, workshops, and exhibitions.
The ceremony closed to warm applause from students and representatives of both institutions. The MOU reflects ViTrox Academy's continued commitment to partnering with educators to create a sustainable talent pipeline that benefits both the nation's youth and its growing technology industry.
