BATU KAWAN, PENANG – ViTrox College is proud to announce the official launch of the ViTrox Innovation Lab by ViTrox, a pioneering high-tech facility designed to revolutionise technical education in Malaysia. Valued at approximately RM60 million and equipped with nearly 60 advanced industrial machines, the lab represents the first industry-embedded learning ecosystem of its kind in Southeast Asia.

The official plaque-signing ceremony was witnessed by key leadership from the Penang State Government, ViTrox Corporation, and UCSI University. The launch underscores a collective commitment to bridging the critical gap between academic theory and industrial mastery.

A Living Laboratory for Next-Gen Engineers
The ViTrox Innovation Lab serves as a transformative bridge for students and working professionals. Moving beyond traditional classroom settings, the facility provides a shared space for undergraduates conducting Final Year Projects (FYP) and professionals pursuing Industrial MSc or PhD programmes.

Under the direct mentorship of ViTrox’s leading engineers and academic faculty, students are immersed in a live manufacturing ecosystem. This professional setting allows them to co-create solutions in advanced precision automation, robotics, AI, and pioneering optical and X-ray vision inspection systems.

Developing the ‘AI-Irreplaceable’ Graduate In response to the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence, the lab’s curriculum and environment are specifically engineered to produce "AI-irreplaceable" graduates. By mastering the application of AI within automation and robotics, ViTrox College students gain a competitive edge. The lab operates on the industry-first principle that while AI may not replace jobs, professionals who can harness its power will lead the workforce of tomorrow.

A Patriotic Mission for National Innovation Dato’ Chu Jenn Weng, President and Group CEO of ViTrox, highlighted the deeper purpose behind the investment:

"We created this space to move our nation from being a consumer of technology to a creator of it. By providing students with this high-tech bridge, we are proving that our youth do not have to leave the country to lead the global tech stage. They can start right here, pioneering next-gen technologies and shaping the future of global engineering from within our own ecosystem."

The launch of the Innovation Lab reinforces ViTrox College’s position as a leader in industry-driven education, ensuring that academic curiosity is systematically transformed into industrial excellence.
