ViTrox College Engineering Students Earn 1st Runner-Up and Top 6 Finalist Positions at Malaysia's National AI Challenge


The ViTrox College engineering students and their lecturers are celebrating their achievements at the National AI Challenge (NAIC) held at Sunway University.


14 JUNE 2026, MALAYSIA— Four engineering students from ViTrox College have achieved remarkable success, securing the 1st Runner-Up position in the Category B Innovation and Engineering Track at the prestigious National AI Challenge (NAIC). Competing at Sunway University, the students demonstrated exceptional dedication and creativity, applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop practical, sustainable engineering solutions.




The other two student finalist teams from ViTrox College proudly showcase the engineering projects that secured their places within the Top 6.
Alongside this achievement, two additional teams from ViTrox College successfully secured places within the Top 6. This collective effort highlights the students' steady commitment, their ability to work together under pressure, and their sincere interest in exploring practical solutions to complex issues.
Organised by Sunway University in partnership with Rakan Tutor, the NAIC is celebrated as Malaysia’s largest AI competition. Under this year’s theme, "Sustainable Innovation for a Better Future", participants were challenged to propose practical, AI-driven ideas aligned with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs) to benefit society, the environment, or the economy.
Competing in Category B alongside peer groups from Pre-University, Diploma, STPM, and UEC programmes, the students balanced their regular academic workloads with the preparation required for the competition. The participants expressed their sincere gratitude for the invaluable guidance of their lecturers and the teamwork that helped them learn and grow throughout the experience.
